WEEK IN BRIEF 25 - 30 October, 2010

Quote for the Week
"A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs-jolted by every pebble in the road." - Henry Ward Beecher

One's sense of humour starts with the ability to laugh at one's own self. Sure laughter is the best medicine; but how many of us can really laugh at our own expense? Being able to laugh at our troubles helps us to look at them objectively and makes them more tolerable; then nasty comments wouldn't seem so nasty, and the most uncomfortable of moments would seem funny. Apart from ourselves, it also puts others around us at ease, thus helping us to connect with them almost instantly.

So, in the spirit of all this humour, here's a question:

Why did the Chicken Cross the Road?
Aristotle    :   To actualize its potential.
Julius Caesar:   To come, to see, to conquer.
Darwin         : It was the logical next step after coming down from the trees.
Ernest Hemingway : To die. In the rain.
Martin Luther King says: It had a dream.

Why do you think the Chicken crossed the road?

Week in Brief @ IPSR

10 years rewind
We had announced that Vibrant IPSR is bringing out special posts about former IPSRians in WEEK IN BRIEF on the occasion of IPSRs 10th Anniversary. Last week we shared with you the story of Mr.Vinay Amaranathan. This time we are sharing the story of another former IPSR employee, Mr. Shijo Paul K. Abraham.

After completing his B.Tech and MBA, Mr. Shijo started his career in Marketing. He joined IPSR way back in 2001 as a Business Development Officer at the IPSR Kottayam branch. Later on, he was transferred to the IPSR Calicut branch as the Regional Coordinator. Mr. Shijo then moved on to specialize in the Sales and Distribution Module in SAP. He then joined Seimens in Hyderabad. Now, Mr. Shijo is working with Wipro Technologies in Infopark, Cochin as a SAP Module Lead.

Mr. Shijo is happily married to Jish and they have a two-year old son, Agnel. The whole IPSR family extends all good wishes to Mr. Shijo and his family.

Talent Genie: Twice the FUN!!

Another leg of the first round of Talent Genie 2011 Calicut edition is going to be held the following week. It will be conducted on November 2nd, 2010 at IPSR Calicut. Participants are already scampering for this rare opportunity.  Here’s wishing the program twice the success.

Sanju Raj Heading for RHCA

Congratulations to Mr. Sanju Raj!

He definitely has some good things going for him. Mr. Sanju Raj, a faculty member of the Linux Training team in the IPSR South Cochin branch, has passed the RH 401(Red Hat Enterprise Deployment and Systems Management) module in the RHCA certification. For those of us who know, this is no simple feat and requires a lot of hard work on ones part.
Several pats on the back for you Sanju!
