Reflections - Simi.S

Sometimes in life, we seem to be lost; we do not know what to do and what not to. I would like to share one of my experiences with you all.

I was employed with The Brunton Boatyard, a cgh earth experience group of hotels at Fort Cochin. Everything was going just the way I wished. I could even say my first job was just like a dream come true, I had everything more than I expected as a fresher. My plans were to continue with the company as long as I could. But just after a year, my sister got married, my mom was alone at home, dad was busy with his business schedules abroad. I was worried thinking about my mom being alone and was in a confused state.

Just after few days, I happened to read a short story. I am attaching a link of the story for you all to read and reflect on. This story gave me a new direction and changed my life. And I believe, it could influence yours as well.

It would take only 3 minutes to read it. I would appreciate if you could share any of your experience or your thoughts on the story.

WEEK IN BRIEF 2 - 7 January, 2012:

  • CEO’s New Year Message:
Dear IPSRians,

One more eventful year has gone by in the history of IPSR. On recollecting the various happenings of 2011, I would like to share with you all the first thought that came to my mind in this New Year. What happened TO us is not important; rather what happened THROUGH us is important. In the past year, we have faced many difficult situations and of course we have been able to tackle them with our best efforts and perseverance. But the major effect was on the people who were inspired by our relentless efforts-many became motivated to move on with their goals seeing us overcome our difficulties. We have also had our share of success stories and bagged various Awards last year. The very fact that a small company like ours has been bagging the Red Hat International Awards for many consecutive years now has inspired many young entrepreneurs too.

Yet another venture we have been carrying forward successfully is our placement services. We have been able to help numerous students by giving them a placement and a career. Quoting one of the parents of a placed student who met me, “What you are doing is a Service to God.” We can renew our strengths by knowing that we have been able to do our service for a social cause, uplifting the lives of many students and in a way their families.

Having received the Samman Patra Award was yet another significant achievement for us last year. It is nothing but a foolproof evidence of the fact that we do believe in values and we can deliver what we promise. I have come across many people who have been influenced by us in this perspective and have decided to move more ethically in their businesses.

We can definitely feel fulfilled by the fact that many people have been influenced by us in one way or the other and also feel happy that we have been able to achieve our ultimate aim of touching the lives of people for a positive growth.

Looking towards 2012 is equally inspirational as we are planning for a big leap in our services and the overall growth of IPSR. I pray that by the Grace of God Almighty we will succeed in climbing great heights this year too.

Wishing you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year!!

WEEK IN BRIEF 24-29 October, 2011:

Quote for the Week:

There are hundreds of languages in the world, but a smile speaks them all.
Most of you might have heard that it requires more muscles on our face to frown than to smile. So smiling is easier than frowning and showing a ‘long face’. As the proverb suggests, a smile conveys the same meaning everywhere in the world. Even babies know that smiles are good! Greeting a person with a smile can kick-start a good conversation. A SMILE indicates that you acknowledge the other person and that they are welcome to talk to you. A smile lightens up the whole face and makes it more beautiful. By the way, are you having a tough time now? Look into a mirror and smile at yourself. You will definitely feel better.
