Week In Brief : 30 July - 4 August 2012

“Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art.... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival.”

Special Transmeet @ IPSR Head Office

A Special Transmeet was organized by the Recreation Club on the occasion of Friendship Day on 3rd August 2012 at 4.00pm at the IPSR Auditorium. The theme of the transmeet was “My Colleague- My Best Friend” and aimed at an informal association between the co-workers.

The Beginning note was delivered by Mr. Krishnaraj, PRO followed by the Introduction of Newbies. The audience was allowed to ask questions to the newcomers to make it interactive and to know more about the individual. Mr. Brijesh George, Deputy GM gave a thought provoking talk on friendships that we see today, special emphasis on Facebook and other social networking sites that we use to connect to our friends.

To get the feel of the theme, Friendship bands were provided and through the lot system, each one found their lucky friend and tied the band as a symbol of friendship.

To make the transmeet more interesting, a popular game ‘BINGO’ was planned and well executed. The winners were acknowledged by our GM, Mr.Jayakrishnan.

The transmeet ended with tea/snacks, party poppers and group photographs

IPSR applauds the efforts of the members of the recreation club for organizing an 'out of the box' event and hope to see new programmes in the future as well.

WEEK IN BRIEF: 6-11 June, 2011

Quote for the Week:

And in the end, it’s not years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.- Abraham Lincoln
Life today is so fast that we hardly notice it pass by.We are all entwined in our daily routines and engagements that we barely get time to relax. Each day has its own troubles and hustles choking the ‘life’ we have. Is there a way out of this? There’s no magic formula that we can follow to live a relaxed life. We can’t just forget our responsibilities and be a ‘free bird’ either. But we can surely be content by living our lives in the right way. Do good things, help someone in trouble and above all be TRUE to YOURSELF. Make sure that you will never have any regrets in your life. Life is too short to waste it with our daily worries and anxieties. It’s not how long you live but how you live your life that’s important. So why don’t we just give it the best and get the best out of it….

News @IPSR:

The recent project at Panakkachira, Idukki in association with the Malanadu Grama Vikas Society is one amongst the best instances we can cite in that respect. We have always strived to promote this responsibility among all IPSRians.Keeping this in mind, the IPSR PR department has brought out a wonderful video presentation titled “Open Your Eyes” highlighting the spirit of the Social commitment of the company. The video has also been uploaded in You Tube.

WEEK IN BRIEF: 1-5 March, 2011

Quote for the Week

"The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will." - Vincent T. Lombardi

How can we tell if a person is successful or not? Every successful person will get through all obstacles blocking their path and reach their ultimate goal... Successful people find a solution to each and every problem they face... And so forth. So does this mean that success comes only to a person who has strength, knowledge and super powers? Not at all! It is nothing but pure WILLPOWER that will make any person successful. Every person with power need not necessarily succeed unless he or she has the “will” to move forward and to keep trying no matter what strikes back at them. So we can always keep in mind that ‘Where there is a will, there is way’.

It Happened!

For all those doubting Thomases (Shiju Alex and the like) and Thomasinas, Transmeet did happen. We started a bit late though due to technical hiccups (Krishna was searching for an apt music compilation and refused to start without the music), but otherwise it was a smooth sail. Cherian welcomed everyone and after that Krishnaraj took over as the MC. Introduction of new employees and Referral system followed. The highlight of the day was the crowning of the Most
Eligible Bachelors of IPSR - Jeevan, Georgy and Bijumon. Jeevan was so overwhelmed with emotion that he cried buckets of tears. (Somebody give him a break and find him a girl, the poor chap is miserable)!

Transmeet ended on a sentimental note when it came time to bid farewell to our beloved Priya who had been managing the Front Office Desk of IPSR for the past 5 years.
We definitely missed our collegues at Calicut and Cochin this time. Hope to see some of you at the next Transmeet. Ciao!

Not Again!

After all those warnings I seriously did not expect to see another mail regarding the Transmeet. But this time I am told that we are all UNINVITED to the proposed Transmeet on June 25th. It has been postponed indefinitely. E-mail bombs are coming your way, Cherian!

Invitation to Transmeet

How many invitations to the NEW, IMPROVED Transmeet do you need? Not three, if you ask me. Well today my Inbox is flooded with invites to the Transmeet: One from the PRO, two from Cherian.
June 25th - Transmeet - Auditorium- 5pm.We have got the details, guys. Don't remind us. Once more.
And there better be some entertainment as promised or the rest of us will be providing the PRO and Cherian some entertainment. From where we are located it is not too difficult to grab hold of some rotten tomatoes.
