The world of open source celebrates this year's Software Freedom Day on Saturday 18th September, 2010. The SFD is aimed to increase the awareness about Free Software, its merits and to empower the public to freely connect, create and share in a digital world that is participatory and transparent and sustainable. Software Freedom Day was established and observed on 28th August, 2004. Software Freedom International - a non-profit organization -coordinates Software Freedom Day at global level. Apart from it a number of volunteer teams around the world also organize local SFD in their own communities. The celebration reminds us the growing relevance of Open Source in the world of Information Technology. At this moment let's remember the real geniuses behind it and be proud to take part in such a great movement.
