WEEK IN BRIEF: 18-23 April, 2011

Quote for the Week:

The value of consistent prayer is not that He will hear us, but that we will hear Him.- William McGill
Prayer is a practice that serves different purposes to different people. For some it is a conversation with God. For some it is a plea for their wishes to come true. For some it is a helpline at times of troubles and great difficulty. But what is the true purpose of prayer? William McGill points out here that consistent prayer helps us to know what God wants of us. Hence through prayer we will be able to find our true purpose in Life. Be it in times of hardships or times of joy, we have to remember God the Omnipotent. This Passion Week let us renew our faith in God through our prayers.

  • IPSR @ Panakkachira,Idukki:
IPSR has taken a big leap into Corporate Social Responsibility by making the dream of the underprivileged children of Panakkachira, Idukki, come true. It was to fulfill their dream of having a computer system that Dr.Mendus Jacob initiated a Charity Fund last December at IPSR. The money which was to be spent on Christmas gifts was thus given for the Fund.

Thanks to the generous contributions big and small, of IPSRians from various branches, a new computer system was donated to the Malanadu Grama Vikas Society on April 7th, 2011, at a function conducted at the Panakkachira village. WEEK IN BRIEF: 28 March-2 April, 2011

Quote for the Week:
“Fool me once shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.”- Chinese Proverb
Every one of us have been fooled or tricked at least once in our lifetime; be it on April Fool’s day or on any other occasion. Being fooled once or committing a mistake in unexpected circumstances is OK. But repeating the same mistake again or being fooled by the same person again is so ridiculous. It simply means that we haven’t learnt from our past mistakes or follies. So next time when someone fools you, decide that they won’t be given another chance.
