Quote for the Week:
Listening forms the base of every conversation. Good listening is vital when critical issues are being discussed, say in meetings, committees or in sales where you want to grab a deal from your customer. If we are not paying attention to what a person is saying, the conversation will have no meaning and will come to an abrupt end. There can even be misunderstandings, arguments and unwanted conflicts in such situations. Only when we listen to the other person will we be able to respond aptly. We should give a chance for the person on the other end to talk too. But again passively listening to what the other person has to say won’t complete the process. Active listening helps you register the information you hear in your mind and respond genuinely. No wonder LISTENING is considered a SKILL nowadays.

We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.-Epictetus
