The Last Week of December 2012...

CEO's New Year Message!!!
Dear IPSRians,

Year 2012 was a memorable year for IPSR. We had many achievements and some failures which are really learning experiences for everyone.
In Dec 2002 we had initiated the process to become a Red Hat partner and ventured into open source technologies. As you know, that was a right decision and we were able to grab 10 awards including 5 international awards from Red Hat. Apart from being the Red Hat partner having produced the highest number of RHCE’s in the world, we were also able to grab projects in open source from the US, Europe and Middle East.
In Dec 2012, we initiated the process of starting our own 100% subsidiary company in Europe. I hope this will be a major shift in our journey.
Last year, we were able to bag the Red Hat award for the Best Training Partner in SAARC countries and conducted many batches for higher certifications including RHCA. Our job portal www.ipsrjobs.com is almost ready for launch. With a record timing, the work of our E-learning portal www.aptitudetraining.in is progressing. We are expecting the official launch of these two portals by mid of 2013. In 2013, we are looking for a robust growth for the company in all divisions and branches and every stakeholder of IPSR will benefit.
I also take this opportunity to personally express my sincere gratitude to the whole IPSR family for the generous contribution to our CSR activities. At Head Office, we were happy to celebrate this X’mas along with inmates of Assissi Bhavan, Kottayam. In our branches also, we celebrated X’mas  with the same spirit by contributing to Old age homes and to marginalized people. I’m sure that it was a wonderful experience for all. I’m happy to put on record that our company is spending more than 10% of our net profit for CSR activities including free training for economically backward students. In the coming year, we would like to further strengthen our CSR activities.
The concept of ‘HERO’ introduced towards the end of 2012 has to take momentum and I hope that new creative ideas from different divisions/departments will help in boosting our team skill and intra-entrepreneurship.
As our organization is growing and the headcount is also increasing day by day, teamwork is very important to achieve our goals. More professionalism is expected from every team member. “Everybody at IPSR will get opportunities to become leaders”.  I request all of you to explore the possibilities and utilize every opportunity to exhibit your leadership skills. Our annual day sessions were focused on these areas.
I have some quotations for the New Year.

A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”

– Winston Churchill.

An optimist stays up until midnight to see the New Year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.”

– Bill Vaughn, American Columnist & Author
So dear friends,
‘We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day,’ as quoted by Edith Lovejoy Pierce, American Poet.
Wish you all a prosperous New Year.

Week In Brief 5th November to 10th November 2012

Be The Change You Want to See in the World
-Mahatma Gandhi
The wisdom of this well known axiom is probably the most ignored advice in the world. When you fully understand what this axiom means, you will begin to realize that there is something terribly wrong in “fighting” for peace. You cannot bring peace to the world until you are at peace with yourself. You cannot build trust, unless you live trust.
The quality you are trying to build in the world must exist within you before it can exist in your world. This is because the world you experience is a reflection of who you are in your mind—your values and beliefs.
“We do not see things as they are but as we are.”
        The Talmud

If you want to see the world differently then stop filtering the world through your beliefs or change your beliefs. If you really want to interact with the world differently try not judge or label what you see. The label you use tells you more about who you are than the situation or person you are labeling. You cannot possibly understand why a person is behaving in the way they are behaving unless you know their complete history.
You should also let your actions be driven by the values of your soul; not by your ego’s beliefs. Let the “inspiration” of your soul guide your actions in everything that you do. What you will discover is that your ultimate passion is to give your gift—make the talents you have, available to the world.

“I don’t know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know; the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve”

Albert Schweitzer

Week In Brief.. 22nd to 27th October 2012

The story of the pencil
By PAULO COELHO on DECEMBER 19, 2009
Source: “Like the Flowing River” by Paulo Coelho

A boy was watching his grandmother write a letter. At one point he asked: “Are you writing a story about what we’ve done? Is it a story about me?” His grandmother stopped writing her letter and said to her grandson: “I am writing about you, actually, but more important than the words is the pencil I’m using. I hope you will be like this pencil when you grow up.” Intrigued, the boy looked at the pencil. It didn't seem very special. “But it’s just like any other pencil I've ever seen!”

Grand Mother Said “That depends on how you look at things. It has five qualities which, if you manage to hang on them, will make you a person who is always at peace with the world.”

‘First quality: Pencil can write anything, but it can’t do it alone, it needs a hand to move it… you are capable of great things, but you must never forget that there is a hand guiding your steps. We call that hand God, and He always guides us according to His will.’

Second quality: now and then, I have to stop writing and use a sharpener. That makes the pencil suffer a little, but afterwards, he’s much sharper. So you, too, must learn to bear certain pains and sorrows, because they will make you a better person.

‘Third quality: the pencil always allows us to use an eraser to rub out any mistakes. This means that correcting something we did is not necessarily a bad thing; it helps to keep us on the road to justice.’

‘Fourth quality: what really matters in a pencil is not its wooden exterior, but the graphite inside. So always pay attention to what is happening inside you.’

Finally, the pencil’s fifth quality: it always leaves a mark. in just the same way, you should know that everything you do in life will leave a mark, so try to be conscious of that in your every action’

"Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and charm and gaiety to life and everything"-Plato

You will be wondering why I am talking about music???Well, this week we are sharing about a person who is passionate about music.
Mr. Mohammed Shafnaz Hamza, Consultant Technical Services, IPSR Trivandrum team. He was fond of developing Apps in Android. Nothing limits him when he is talking about Android and he is curious about researching on Android. As a professional, Shafnaz is a person who has his own principles and ethics in whatever he does. As a friend he is a very reliable person whom you can approach at any time.
Besides his profession, he is passionate about music. Quoting him "Music is one of my parts, like my ribs, kidney, liver, heart. Like my blood, it is a force that is already within me"…  Though not properly trained in music, he himself discovered his god gifted talent in music…He is a very good singer and he has done music direction for a handful of songs which he currently sings in his band.
During his school days he had won many prizes for light music, mapilla pattu, tabulae, drama, mime English and Malayalam recitations. He was the district Kalaprathiba in the year 2003.Also he used to write poems in Malayalam and had won prizes for that too.

It was while his studies in Model Polytechnic College he met his friend Dhanesh which turned out be turning point in his life…Dhanesh wrote lyrics for Shafnaz…and together they did their first creation…a prayer song for the college with Shafnaz’s music and his friend’s lyrics…From then there was no stopping…During his Btech @Sree Chithira Thirunaal College, he was elected as the arts club secretary…It was that time, when he formed his musical band “SAPTAK”, which still keeps on performing across Kerala…Shafnaz  & his band have won many prizes in various inter college fests…

Shafnaz and his band were not ready to settle down for anything small…and they literally proved it…by creating the theme music for Kochi Tuskers Kerala…Kerala’s very own IPL Team… Yes friends it was Shafnaz who did the music direction for their theme song…Great Going Shafnaz…!!!!! But Shafnaz wants to be a famous singer than a music director and for that he is continuing his music classes from NatBrahmam @ Trivandrum…Hope your dream comes true…!!!

As of Shafnaz, he says "Android App development is my profession and Music is my passion. I want my profession to fulfill my passion".

The SAPTAK
Let's wish him all the best and May he fulfill his dream of being a famous singer that world has ever seen!!!!!

Two More Golden Feathers to IPSR's RED HAT CROWN!!!!

Mr Aneesh P V
Mr Sanju Raj
A statement becomes a fact when someone proves it. Yes this statement has being absolutely proved by Mr. Aneesh P.V, Manager Technical Services and Mr. Sanju Raj, Sr Consultant Technical Services, Edappally. As a result of their preparation, hard work and above all the will power Mr. Aneesh P.V & Mr. Sanju Raj have achieved their RHCSS certification. Inspite of their busy schedule of being a Manager and a faculty they found time to be a student too.

Week In Brief 8th to 13th October 2012

Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections”

Happiness begins when you let go. When you allow life to happen, instead of trying to control it, you begin to become free. In that freedom, it is so much easier to find happiness than it is when you try to force things. So relax, and allow life to have its little imperfections. If you are constantly striving for perfection, you’re doing more than most. However, if you’re expecting perfection, you will likely be miserable, as few things are ever even remotely close to perfect. At least that’s how it has been in my life. How about yours? It’s easy in this fast paced life of ours to get all wrapped up in everything that has to happen, and all that needs to be accomplished. It is also easy to get overly concerned with perfection. Yes, we all want to do our best work, but none of us are perfect. How often do we get upset because something didn’t work out exactly the way we wanted? Even if the result was fairly close, we get upset. Upset usually leads to discontent, which then takes us to unhappiness. Imperfect equals unhappy? Does that sound like a great way to live your life?
Imperfect is part of life. It is part of humanity. It is all around us, and it is within us. Trying to force perfection, or to expect it to occur in this lifetime, that’s just not very realistic, is it? While we might strive to achieve more, understand that we will fall short far too often.
What in your life is causing you stress? What can you do to let go of some of that stress? What can you do to stop putting perfection between you and happiness? Even if it’s a small step, every little bit helps. Try something today, and see if you can’t get a little closer to happiness tonight

This week we have The Backbone of Our Cochin OperationsAny Guesses …Yes we are talking about our very own Mr Nibin Sunny, Manager- Hardware & Technical Services…

Apart from his professional expertise Mr Nibin has many other talents too…how many of you knew that Nibin has been trained in Kalari Payattu, One of the most famous traditional martial art forms of Kerala...   He has won several prizes for Kuruvadi…which is a subdivision of kalaripayattu done with wooden sticks…Wow we have warrior with us!!!  He has also won many prizes in drama and mime…Nibin Sir, you know martial arts… you know acting…hmm how about trying in movies…J
It’s not it!!! He is also a person with mind blowing creativity…"COCONUT SHELL CRAFT WORK…." Isn’t that great…I mean not many people can do that…Just have a look at his works…

Mr. Nibin was also an  active member of NCC with B certification. One of his achievements while in NCC was that he was able to help the victims of 1999 Orissa Cyclone…
Really impressive!!

Some words about Nibin Sir from his colleagues…

I remember the day before the shifting of OSBDC from Edappally. He was working along with the workers. The next day when I came to office he was still busy with cleaning and arranging, he was working late night, and slept at office. I wondered how dedicated and sincere he was. We are grateful to IPSR for giving us such a wonderful Manager”

Having such a wonderful asset surely makes ipsr proud!!!!

  • Organ Donation Campaign!!!

I hope almost all of the ipsrians are aware of the Organ Donation Campaign that we were organizing on behalf of JCI Kottayam Cyber City & Malayala Manorama…Well if anyone is not aware of the campaign I am attaching the pamphlet below…

But we feel very sad that not many people have come forward to support the campaign… We have just got 19 forms!!! That’s really a bad count when we have an employee strength more that 100…Common people…we should feel proud that our organization is coming forward and taking up such initiatives…and we should support our CSR activities...Hope to see some more people coming up to support the campaign…

NAVARATRI & EID WISHES to all our Precious Employees… JJ

Wish you all a good week Ahead !!!!
